Lighting Diagram
I had so much fun shooting Stefania Zavval’s beautiful designs at Torrey Pines, this photo was taken on a steep path on the way down the mountain to Black’s Beach. Vic held the beauty dish above the model while my assistant for the shoot, Christy Golder, hid behind a cliff to point a speed light at the back of the models body for rim light. Not pictured in the diagram but also used were Pocket Wizards and an Alien Bee 800. *More photos from this shoot coming soon.

This is amazing – do you use AB1600′s for most of your work?
Hi Jawanza, thank you for the comment. I use both the AB800 and AB1600, for this shoot I used the AB800.

Hello,
I just wanted to say your photos look so amazing and it’s great that you put up your lighting demonstrations. I was just wondering what sort of lenses you use. Your photos look so perfect and clear!
Thanks a lot!

Thank you, I hope to soon!
Hello. I love your photography! Thank you for taking the time to put up lighting diagrams and videos of behind the scenes. I don’t have the $$$ for a Mola, but I am trying to get similar results with my 22″ beauty dish….not there yet. Thanks again.
Emily,
I love your videos and how you provide the lighting diagram. I have an AB800 and was interested in getting the beauty dish to use on location. Do you recommend the AB beauty dish? I have the AB large octobox but it’s just too big to take on location. Also, what aperature and shutter do you use in these shots?
Hi Im just disvcovering your site. I would lo come to your upcoming workshops. Anyway you mentioned you are using the alien bee but not sure where and how it was used. could you elaborate?
