Mola Setti
For those interested, here is the lighting setup for my first shoot using the Mola Setti beauty dish. I love the lighting it gives and prefer it over my Kacey beauty dish because it gives so much more light. My only complaint is that it’s so heavy to carry around with the Vagabond pack, but luckily I have Vic to help me out!

Hi Emily!
I really like the lighting and post processing of this one. The brownish look fits the environment perfectly! The only thing bothering me a little is the cut off heel on her left foot. But great shot nonetheless!
Best wishes
Marco
Hi Marco! Thanks for the comment, yes the ground was so soft it was almost impossible for the heel to not sink into it! You are the first one who to have mentioned it but it definately was bothering me too during the shoot!
Thanks for the comment Marco! Yes it was so hard keeping her from sinking into the sand, surprisingly youre the only one who has mentioned it! Good eye
Thanks for checking out the blog!

I have a question regarding the above picture : what are camera’s setting and what was your tips for post-processing ?
Cheers

Thank you for the comment Yann! I am always adjusting my settings depending on changes in lighting and I use Lightroom and Photoshop for post-processing. I’ll try to write a blog post on it later!

Breath-taking! Stunning. I could go on and on….. but you get my point. I’m totally overwhelmed with your work. Best I’ve seen!
Have been on the fence about the Setti vs. the Kacey dish (simply due to cost). However, your comments have just pushed me over the edge.

Hi Emily,
I am in the middle transition from flash light to strobe.I found using 3 Canon 580EXII group together shoot through 80cm softbox isn’t enough on outdoor shoot as like above situation. Please advice which strobe you use on above shoot?Probably the guide number or power rating of the strobe infomation will be helpfull.
Thanks & regards,
Ronnie

Hello There… First of all great work.. What lens and settings did unuse to achieve this shot?
Hi Emily , not sure u will reply me or not, i love your art work and been following ur work for sometime, i too love to use beauty dish to shoot, but i have not experience with mola yet , indeed the light looks great.. my questions for u is, how do you measure lights in your workflow? light meter? in camera metering? thanks a bunch, keep up the great art work going~~ love- from malaysia
